Independent Learning Academy (ILA) Carlsbad Campus is a ministry available to the Carlsbad, Oceanside, and North San Diego County area homeschooling community.  In 2016-2017, ILA Oceanside was birthed, blessing 10 families.  Then the next school year, ILA relocated to Carlsbad Community Church and grew to over 30 families.  September 2018, ILA moved to Faith Community Church.  ILA Carlsbad is looking forward to being at Faith Community Church throughout the coming years.

ILA helps to equip students with skills, knowledge, and opportunities that will prepare them for success and independence as young adults. Its purpose and intent is to raise up and equip the next generation to fulfill their individual God-given purposes and to become leaders in their community making a difference in people’s lives (based on Ephesians 2:10).  ILA is a considered a “mini-college” for homeschoolers.

ILA Carlsbad is directed by Teresa Baker, who is in her 12th year of home-schooling her four children.  She and Brian have been married for 19 years and both of them surrendered their life to Jesus Christ on September 28, 2007.  Teresa has a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State Fullerton.   After Teresa first got saved, she taught the Bible at a Christian Montessori school as well as served in children’s and mother’s ministries at her church.   She also taught a Good News Club in Orange County in conjunction with serving with Lesley Russell in 2014-2015 as Lead Monitoring Coordinator of ILA Aliso Viejo.  Teresa and her family moved to Oceanside in 2015 after six years of seeking God’s will for their family.  She loves the connection with other home-schooling families and that the ILA community is a huge part of her family’s home-schooling days.

ILA Carlsbad welcomes your family to join us for classes on Mondays and/or Thursdays @ Faith Community Church, 2700 Rancho Pancho, Carlsbad, CA 92009.
